Level Design Projects

Two level design projects completed as part of university as both individual and group design projects. These projects showcase skills related to the use of Unity3D and 3D modelling interfaces such as Autodesk Maya and Unity ProBuilder.

FPS Level Design – Counter Strike: GO

An individual project in which we were required to design and create a mock-up of a first person shooter level in Unity3D for a game of our choice. I chose to challenge myself by designing for Counter Strike Global Offensive due to it’s finely balanced maps in regards to positioning, sight lines and emphasis on travel times to key objectives. I also saw this as a good opportunity to test my ability to design for a game I am not particularly familiar with, requiring me to learn and understand the nuances of game.

Isometric RPG Level Design – Prison of Devils

A group project where as a team we were required to design a simple isometric RPG style game and create a series of connected levels to accompany it. The result was “Prison of Devils” a game about a Cleric sent into a prison for devils and demons to complete a series of rituals to stop them from escaping.
