About Me

Welcome to my portfolio.

My name is Thomas.

That’s me.

I grew up here in Australia and would consider myself a Brisbane local, living all over the city in my time here.

I consider myself to be a game developer and a marketer as I have studied a dual degree in business; majoring in marketing, and interactive environments; majoring in design, essentially game/software development. Since  I was young I’ve always had a keen interest in the design and development of games as well as computer software but never properly realized these as career options until high school. Creating systems to entertain people or serve a practical purpose is an exciting new industry that I would love to be a part of.

Marketing is also a keen interest of mine, that initially surprised me but I realize now makes sense due to the nature of the games industry. I find it fascinating how an effective marketing strategy can sometimes be the make or break point for any product and it was no different for games and software. Watching Reggie Fils-Aimie, the marketing director at Nintendo, and his love of the industry and expert knowledge translate to results for Nintendo. Generating success after success for Nintendo and Reggie himself becoming a cultural icon of sorts gave me an appreciation for marketing as something with character, personality and an abundance of creativity.

I graduated at the end of 2019 and currently I am taking the time to improve upon the foundational knowledge I gained during my studies and hope to make myself into a knowledgeable and talented developer. I look forward to is being able to prove myself and learn new skills in new industries. Hopefully I can be part of something that  combines both my interests in some way but I would consider myself lucky to realize even one of these interests. I still believe I have a lot to learn in both of my chosen disciplines and am working my hardest to improve in each of them. Overall, I believe the skills I’ve gathered will help me to get off to a flying start in my career, given the chance.
